10 Effective Ways To Reduce Your Business Costs
By Stone Evens 4/23/08
1. Barter
If you have a business you should be bartering goods and services with other businesses. You should try to
trade for something before you buy it. Barter deals usually require little or no money.
2. Network
Try networking your business with other businesses. You could trade leads or mailing lists. This will cut down on your marketing and advertising costs. You may also try bartering goods and services with them.
3. Wholesale/Bulk
You'll save money buying your business supplies in bulk quantities. You could get a membership at a wholesale warehouse or buy them through a mail order wholesaler. Buy the supplies you are always running out of.
4. Free Stuff
You should try visiting the thousands of freebie sites on the internet before buying your business supplies. You can find free software, graphics, backgrounds, online business services etc.
5. Borrow/Rent
Have you ever purchased business equipment you only needed for a small period of time? You could have just borrowed the equipment from someone else or rented the equipment from a "rent-all" store.
6. Online/Offline Auctions
You can find lower prices on business supplies and equipment at online and offline auctions. I'm not saying all the time, but before you go pay retail for these items try bidding on them first.
7. Plan Ahead
Make a list of business supplies or equipment you'll need in the future. Keep an eye out for stores that have big sales. Purchase the supplies when they go on sale before you need them.
8. Used Stuff
If your business equipment and supplies don't need to be new, buy them used. You can find used items at yard and garage sales, used stores, used stuff for sale message boards and newsgroups etc.
9. Negotiate
You should always try negotiate a lower price for any business equipment or supplies. It doesn't hurt to try. Pretend you are talking to a salesman at a car
lot.
10. Search
You can always be searching for new suppliers for your business supplies and equipment. Look for suppliers with lower prices and better quality. Don't
just be satisfied with a few.
10 Ways To Attract More Orders
By Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy
1. Create a free ebook directory on a specific topic at your web site. People will visit your web site to read the free ebooks and may see your product ad.
2. Turn part of your web site into a members only web site. Instead of charging for access, use it as a free bonus for one of your products.
3. Add a free classified ad section to your web site. You could then trade banner ads with other web sites that have free classified ad sections.
4. Create two versions of your e-zine so people can choose if they want ads included with it or not. This'll attract the people who hate ads to subscribe.
5. Publish your e-zine only on your web site. Have people subscribe to a "new issue" e-mail reminder. This could really increase your traffic and sales.
6. Sell advertising space in your product package. You could sell inserts, flyers, brochures, booklets, and digital ads for electronic products.
7. Offer daily or weekly visitor bonuses. This will increase your repeat traffic and sales because your visitors will visit regularly to get the visitor bonuses.
8. Allow people to download software or e-books from your web site at no cost. Just ask your visitors in return if they'll refer their friends to your web site.
9. Build up the number of people that join your free affiliate program quickly by temporally offering your product for free to the people that sign up.
10. Negotiate with e-zine publishers to get free or discounted ads by letting them join your affiliate program and earn commissions on the ad you run.
I'd like to start this day by giving you a new philosophy to start thinking about.
The most visited and profitable websites on the Internet are those that provide the most value to their users.
Sure, you can learn all the latest techniques for "driving traffic" to your website, but why not simply apply the most tried and true method for getting people to visit your site which is to make your website a resource for others.
People visit Google simply because it's a useful site that provides helpful services. Same with Yahoo, MSN, YouTube and MySpace. All of these sites are among the very top traffic sites in the world, not because they figured out all the latest traffic generating techniques, but simply because they are extremely useful sites who have found more ways to serve people than most other websites.
If you can adopt this simple philosophy with your own website, doors of opportunity and riches will be opened up to you that could not be otherwise.
Make your website a resource for others, and you'll start generating FREE targeted traffic that can NEVER be stopped. Once you have this kind of traffic, there will be no limit to the ways you can monetize (make money from) it.
Throughout this 30 Days to Success guide, I will continue to make new suggestions on ways you can make your site more of a resource to other people. And in doing this, I am hoping that you'll start having "light bulb"-type moments along the way that get you excited about your future.
Before we continue, let me give you an example (hint: this site could be a good model for you) of a website in our niche market that is doing this very effectively and making a fortune from it too - being a resource to other people.
The website I'm talking about is: Web-Source.net
If you visit Web-Source.net, you'll see that it's a great resource for people who have websites. Scan through the site and look at all the great information and tools that are made available FREE to visitors. It's an amazing site and gets a TON of free traffic because of the value it provides!
The beauty of providing all this value to people is that the site is getting linked to from all over the place and is therefore getting high listings in Google and all the other major search engines for all kinds of search phrases - even highly competitive ones like "web site design" which it's on the first page of Google for and not paying a dime for it!
In fact, this site is consistently in the top 30,000 most visited websites on the entire Internet as you can see here.
Best of all, the very nice lady who owns this site is a long-time Plug-In Profit Site member and Host4Profit customer. Her name is Shellery Lowery and you should definitely put Web-Source.net in your favorites list!
Moreover, the the practice that Shelley is using to add as much value as humany and technologically possible is what I am urging YOU to start doing with your own website.
Instead of thinking about your website as merely something to promote so you can make money, start thinking about your site as a RESOURCE CENTER that will allow you to provide value to others. When you do this, the money part will come naturally, I guarantee it.
If I have communicated effectively through the words on this page, you should have just gone through a paradigm shift. Dictionary.com defines "paradigm shift" as a fundamental change in approach or assumptions.
If that's not true, please re-read everything above again...
From this point forward, I'm asking you to start thinking about your website in this new way - as a resource center to develop that will serve other people.
To begin this journey, I would like you to consider adding an article directory to your website...
Stay Focused on Your Work from Home Business
By Stone Evens
4/2/08
As an owner of a work from home business, you must always remember your purpose for working at home. What was your reason for wanting to own a work from home business?
Was your goal to work from home to share in the lives of your children?
Was your goal to be out from under the rule of a tyrannical boss?
Was your goal to have the freedom to work when it is convenient for you? Was your goal to make extra money working from a home business?
Here's a few good tips that will help you stay focused on your work from home business:
TIP #1:
Whatever your reason for working from home, you must keep your reason in the forefront of your mind. If you forget your reason for starting your own work from home business, you will not be working for yourself for long. It is far too easy to let circumstance drive your activities --- and when circumstance is in the driver`s seat, you are more likely to crash and burn.
TIP #2:
Remember, your own work from home business is a lot like a real job. Some people go to work to play, some go to socialize, and others --- most often those who are paid in a commission or tip environment --- go to work to work to make money.
When you work from home, your salary is directly proportional to your productivity. Therefore, wouldn`t it make sense to stay focused on getting as much done in as short of a period as possible? Get to work and to make money. Leave playtime and recreation for when your workday has ended.
TIP #3:
When you are dealing with family in the course of your workday, it is important to schedule your activities as much as possible. With small children, you must take time when you must, but you should also dedicate a specific number of hours to your work from home business.
With older children, it is much easier to tell them that you will be working between the hours of x and y. Your children and your friends must understand that certain hours of your day are devoted to the activities of your work from home business.
TIP #4:
Don't permit your friends and extended family to run over you. Many people get the blind idea that if one works from home then they are not actually working.
Well-meaning people may try to fill your doorway to bring advice about getting a real job. Others may simply believe that if you are at home, then you are fair game for chitchat and socialization.
You must stand firm. You must make certain your friends and family understands that when you are working with your work from home business, then you ARE working! If they wish to socialize with you, then they need to do it during the hours that are not dedicated to your work from home business.
You are the only one who can stand up for you. Your friends and family will seldom be able to appreciate your dedication to your work from home business, unless you make the effort to make sure that they have the same respect for your business that you do.
TIP #5:
You should allot a certain portion of your day to email and to regular mail. For example, allot one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon to handling your written communications.
Unless you dedicate certain times to the handling of these communications, you will soon find yourself on the downward slope of decreased productivity.
TIP #6:
When you find yourself spending too much time doing non-productive activities, then you should seriously consider finding a third-party service provider who will assist you in those non-profitable business activities.
As an example, you might be in the travel business. You might believe that your time is best spent writing ad copy and setting up your advertising, but you find yourself spending far too much time taking care of your books to take care of your advertising in the manner that you should. In this event, it might make more sense to hire a bookkeeper to handle your financial records for you.
CONCLUSION:
In the end, the success of your work from home business is entirely and completely reliant upon you and the decisions that you make. You had your reasons for deciding to start your own work from home based business. You must always keep your reasons in the forefront of your mind. You must always be able to rely upon your own self and your dedication to the success of your work from home business.
Your friends and family might be annoyed that they cannot come visit upon their own whim, but when success comes to you and your business, they will better appreciate you for putting your foot down when necessary.
Success is within your reach, if only you can stay focused on your goals. You must decide to reach for your goals, and then, you must have the discipline necessary to reach them.

Maximum Traffic Exposure
With Press Releases |

Print and read this article very carefully, there is valuable information here:
According to many experts, press releases are an absolutely essential part of any traffic generation campaign. Additionally, they often interface perfectly with a traffic generation campaign, as such campaigns are usually used after a site or product launch – or to kick off a contest.
While there are several different press release services available over the Internet, PR Web, which you can find at http://www.prweb.com is considered to be the current industry leader.
They provide clients with wide-distribution press releases, which range in price from free to well over $500. Of course, the quality of the distribution is directly related to the price. A free submission may yield several hundred to several thousand views; whereas a $500 submission will be sent to radio stations, newspapers, publishers, tens of thousands of webmasters, and all other press release services.
This could end up yielding tens of thousands of visitors if you write your press release properly, but flop completely if you don't follow the steps below.
Now, when writing a press release, there are two important things to take into consideration.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Written Press Releases are included with most of the online presence packages available at http://www.createyourbuzz.com , so why not invest in your business future, and gain maximum exposure for your own business today?
The first thing you must consider is the submission guidelines of the press release service you choose. Some services will require character-per-line formatting. Additionally, they may ask you to include certain elements, such as your telephone number, address, and byline.
The second thing you must take into consideration is the construction of the press release. This is something that writers often bungle, even when they are talented. This is because a press release isn't written as an article would be written; although several elements are the same.
When writing the actual press release, you will want to start with a compelling title that will intrigue the largest possible crowd while still remaining at least somewhat related to your topic. Avoid using your business's name or your own name in the title. Instead, keep it powerful, but vague. Make readers click to find out what it's all about.
Now, when you get to the body of your press release, it is important to take one of two approaches: the “story” approach or the “newspaper” approach.
If you take the newspaper approach, put all of the pertinent details in the first paragraph and then slowly scale down the story. If you take the story approach, don't give any specific details until the end. The latter often works best for generating traffic to your site.
In either case, focus on the who, what, where, why, when, and how in each release.
And there you have it: a short recipe for effective press releases.
Written Press Releases are included with most of the online presence packages available at http://www.createyourbuzz.com , along with radio and tv spots, and effective sales copy on your professionally designed website (included)... so why not invest in your business future, and gain maximum exposure for your own business today? |
